What promises to be the biggest ever city-wide cycling challenge got under way this Monday, 2nd July.
More than 1,500 individuals from around 80 different organisations across the city, including businesses, schools, colleges and other major employers, are taking part in the Cardiff Cycle Challenge. And, because there’s still time to sign up, it’s hoped that even more people will choose to get involved.
From Monday 2 until Sunday 22 July, teams will compete in one of six different categories, depending on their size. The idea is that individuals taking part can cycle at a time to suit them, even if it’s only for ten minutes.
Those who register and record their rides stand a chance of winning some fantastic prizes, from a hot air balloon ride across South Wales, to a luxury spa day and a £500 bicycle. All those riding for the first time in a year or more will automatically win a Cineworld cinema ticket.

The Cardiff Cycle Challenge is being organised in partnership by Cardiff Council, CTC, Challenge for Change, Environment Wales, Sustrans and Public Health Wales.
