Cycleway 1.2 – Cathays Terrace to UHW
Cycleway 1: City Centre to North Cardiff
Cycleway 1 will provide a route from the city centre to North Cardiff. Destinations served by Cycleway 1 will include:
- City Centre
- Sherman Theatre
- Sophia Gardens
- Cathays Library
- Cathays Community Centre
- Cathays Station
- University Hospital Wales
- Heath
The construction of first part of this route was completed in 2019, creating a cycle track on St Andrew’s Place and Senghennydd Road.
Cycleway 1.2: Cathays Terrace to UHW
The second phase of Cycleway 1 will improve cycle facilities through Cathays Terrace, part of Whitchurch Road, Allensbank Road and King George V Drive.
Public consultation was conducted between 19th June 2020 and 31st July 2020.
The Council will be completing highway works on Whitchurch Road and Allensbank Road over the coming months to install the cycleway. More information on estimated construction dates is available in the PDF below.
