I’m Disabled
Getting around when you have a disability needs good planning.
The information on this page should help you to find out what is in place to make it as easy as possible.
Public transport
You can find out more about accessible bus travel here and accessible rail travel here.
Blue Badge Holders
Cardiff Council provides dedicated spaces for blue badge holders and also allows you to park free of charge in Pay and Display areas if you are displaying your blue badge. You can find out more about how to apply for a Blue Badge and your rights and responsibilites as a blue badge holder here.
Finding a parking space
The Park Cardiff App has a filter you can switch on that will show you where there are Blue Badge spaces available in the city centre.
The App can’t reserve a space for you but will show you how many spaces are available at each location and can be used to help you plan where it’s most convenient for you to park.
Disabled Parking Bays
If you meet certain criteria you can apply to have a disabled bay installed near your home.
If you have off street parking in place at your home you are unlikely to qualify for a disabled bay.
The Council can’t always put a bay in place outside your home, and won’t put one outside somebody elses home for your use, but will always try to get it as close as possible to your home.
You can find out more about the policies here.
