Keeping Cardiff Moving during the summer of events

Summer in the city is just around the corner! Cardiff is famous for hosting a diverse programme of events including live music, street theatre, world-class sporting events, family entertainment, cultural and foodie events to name but a few.

This summer is no different with Joust! At Cardiff Castle on Saturday 15 June when The Knights of Royal England return to Cardiff Castle this summer with a dazzling show and an epic display of jousting. See some spectacular horseback stunts as the brave knights stop at nothing, charging full tilt in an attempt to strike their opponent’s shield and knock them out of their saddle.

Tafwyl Cardiff’s annual Welsh language arts & culture festival is also at Cardiff Castle 22 + 23 June. As always the festival will be bringing a dazzling array of some of the biggest names in Welsh arts, culture & sport to Cardiff; along with an excellent street food area.

If live music is your thing get Cardiff Sounds Of The City Weekender in your diary with headline shows from The Killers, Manic Street Preachers and Paul Weller.

Getting you to your event in a safe, healthy & affordable way.
There’s no need to take the car into the city centre, why not take public transport, cycle, walk or even arrive in style by water!

If you don’t own a bike here are details on how to hire one

Park and Ride provides a quick and easy service that drops you off straight into the city centre. Cardiff has three Park and Ride sites, which can get you to the city centre in as little as 15 minutes from Cardiff East, Cardiff West and Cardiff South.

Changing How we move around a growing city.
We want it to be even easier to travel to and around Cardiff and give you more public transport and active travel options. We want public transport, cycling or walking to be the automatic ways to travel with cars used far less than they are now.

In 2018 we published a Transport and Clean Air Green Paper, ‘Changing how we move around a growing city’ and earlier this year we published a Clean Air Business Plan. We listened to your views and have already made a number of improvements; and produced an ambitious vision of how together we can to make Cardiff grow as a fairer, cleaner, healthier and
prosperous city.

We will be sending out regular updates about the project’s progress, and as we make decisions based on your input. You can opt into these updates through the link below.
