Adult Cycle Training
Whether you’re new to cycling, haven’t been on a bike for a while or are an experienced cyclist, Adult Cycle Training could help you to build the skills and confidence you need to cycle more regularly and effectively. You can now book a free 1 hour adult training session online.
Our trainers can teach you to learn to ride up to level 3 of the National Standard and will tailor the session for you.
- Level 1 (Off Road): This will take you through basic checks, getting on and off, starting and stopping, basic control, gears, looking around and signalling.
- Level 2 (Residential Streets): This covers road positioning, awareness, passing parked vehicles, junctions and journey planning.
- Level 3 (Main Roads): This covers preparation, road positioning, passing queuing traffic, managing other vehicles, traffic lights and roundabouts. You should bring your bike, but if you don’t have a bike we do have options to supply one for the session.
We also recommend that you wear a helmet and high-visibility clothing.
Before starting any training, we will check that your bike is suitable i.e.: the right size, fully working brakes, enough air in the tyres etc. Our trainers can make minor repairs and adjustments and provide advice on this, but please do allow extra time for this if you think this may be necessary.
Cancellation and Rearranging:
If you need to cancel or rearrange a session please give our trainers 24 hours notice. Unfortunately if you don’t do this we will won’t be able to offer you training again in the future.
